MEET THE PANELISTS
ART/NY
Founded in 1972, A.R.T./New York assists over 400 member theatres in managing their theatre companies effectively so they may realize their rich artistic visions and serve their diverse audiences well. Over nearly five decades, A.R.T./New York has earned a reputation as a leader in providing progressive services to our members—from shared office and rehearsal spaces to technical assistance programs for emerging theatres—which have made the organization an expert in the needs of the New York City nonprofit theatre community.
Danielle King (she/her) is a New York City based arts leader and creative producer committed to championing artists and building supportive working conditions, opportunities, and resources to create work that builds empathy, cultivates community, and inspires action. She currently serves as Director of Program Services for A.R.T/New York where she helps over 400 member theaters to more effectively realize their artistic visions and better serve their diverse audiences. Prior to ART/New York, Danielle served as Producer and Director of Organizational Culture at Williamstown Theatre Festival, where worked to reimagine the Festival’s operating model as it emerged from the pandemic. From 2019-2022, Danielle served as Managing Producer at The Tank, where she led the company's rapid programmatic growth after its move to a new two-theater home (winning an Obie in the process). And at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Danielle curated and produced platforms for artists to share their work with the public and transform public space, most notably through the annual River To River Festival. Danielle holds a B.F.A. from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, an M.A. in Arts Administration from Columbia University and is a graduate of the American Express Leadership Academy. She sits on the Board of The Tank. And maybe most importantly, she is a very proud parent to two amazing lovebugs.
